About
I started this blog to record the experience of being without computers for a day. I did this as a dare/celebration of the 60th anniversary of the construction of ‘Baby’ – the world’s first stored program computer – here in Manchester.
Since then, the blog has morphed into a place to put my experience of trade shows and other events along with my thoughts on the future of telephony/communications.
I’m a software developer at heart, I’m most interested in things that work. I am not big on long distance futurology, I like to be doing stuff now that will be absolutely mainstream in 3-5 years time.
Over the past 25 years I’ve been involved in several startups, with phases of consultancy in between (the one often leads to the other).
I’m currently doing both – running the Phonefromhere.com startup and consulting.
